Head of Internal Operations

Location: Waddinxveen, NetherlandsProject Type: Data Centre ConstructionKey responsibilities:Lead and integrate the internal operational domains — IT, HR, Legal, Compliance, Insurance, ESG & Sustainability — into one cohesive, high-performing system.Develop and implement internal governance structures, frameworks, and standards that ensure efficient, secure, and ethical operations across all business functions.Translate company strategy into scalable internal systems, policies, and processes that support sustainable growth.Oversee digital infrastructure and tools (e.g., ERP, document control, BI, ACC, AI solutions), ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with organizational needs.Work closely with project teams to ensure internal operations (IT, HR, Legal, Compliance, ESG) are fully connected to project delivery and business performance.Drive operational excellence by streamlining workflows, increasing cross-functional alignment, and embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Provide leadership and direction to internal teams, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and service delivery expectations.Ensure compliance with regulatory, governance, and data-integrity requirements across all internal functions.Oversee internal risk management processes, including insurance coverage, compliance controls, and audit readiness.Partner with senior leadership to improve organizational structure, workforce planning, talent management, and internal capability building.Foster transparent communication and strong relationships across departments, ensuring internal operations act as an enabler for business success.Qualifications/Experience:Proven experience leading or integrating multiple internal operational domains (e.g., IT, HR, Legal, Compliance, ESG/Sustainability, Insurance).Strong organizational and structural-thinking skills with the ability to bring clarity to complex operational challenges.Analytical, precise, and action-oriented; comfortable driving measurable improvements across systems and processes.Experience working in a project-based, engineering, or construction-related environment is an advantage.Strategic mindset combined with hands-on implementation capability.Clear and confident communicator, able to build trust with senior leadership, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.Solid understanding of corporate governance, data integrity, risk management, and compliance principles.Genuine interest in operational excellence, business systems, and organizational performance.
