Job Description

Develop and execute policies, plans, and procedures that align with the company's legal and regulatory obligations. This includes providing legal support and guidance to the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and safeguarding the company's legal position and interests. Oversee litigation and dispute settlement activities and closely monitor legal negotiations to protect Company's legal rights. Maintain company's reputation as a law-abiding and ethically responsible organization.Generic AccountabilitiesDevelop and implement strategic plans for Legal Affairs and Compliance that align with company’s Governance, risk management and compliance, vision, mission, and objectives.Support in the development and monitoring of the department’s annual yearly budget in line with strategic plans.Provide subject matter expertise and counsel to company's leadership on related areas to facilitate the achievement of the Governance, risk management and compliance and divisional objectives.Manage departmental objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating the team.Lead talent development initiatives for Legal Affairs and Compliance in collaboration with discipline experts from the company to ensure talent meets business needs.Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to deliver defined KPIs in line with the company's overall business plans.Develop and implement departmental policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls to fulfill procedural and legislative requirements.Ensure departmental reports meet the company's requirements, policies, and quality standards in a timely and accurate manner.Job Specific AccountabilitiesProvide legal advice and recommendations to the company's top management to aid decision-making and protect company's legal interests against potential liabilities.Manage and oversee litigation and dispute settlement activities, and lead legal negotiations to protect company's legal rights.Ensure company's rights are protected in its dealings with third parties, and initiate litigation or court proceedings as necessary.Verify the validity of monthly reports on company's claims to maintain accurate records for future reference.Establish and manage relationships with external law firms, ensuring that their services are appropriate and cost-effective.Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of various commercial agreements and documentation, including procurement agreements, RFPs, lending and financing agreements, partnership agreements, and purchase agreements, to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and prevent legal liabilities.Ensure the completeness and correctness of all contractual work, documents, and agreements in line with company's regulations and legal requirements.Represent the company's management in disputes, litigation matters, and permits in compliance with government requirements.Review and interpret local and international laws and regulations that impact the company's business operations, and circulate them to organizational functions. Update compliance records and ensure full compliance across the organization.Develop and direct the implementation of the company's compliance monitoring plan, assess the compliance maturity of functional departments, and implement corrective and preventive measures in coordination with relevant stakeholders.Monitor emerging legal and compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, keeping the organization up to date on the latest legal developments and trends.Prepare compliance reports that include cases of non-compliance, evaluation results, and risks to provide the company's top management with information for decision-making.Conduct internal investigations and audits as needed to identify potential legal or compliance issues and develop appropriate responses.Monitor and ensure compliance with anti-corruption laws and regulations.Develop and conduct training programs and workshops for employees to raise awareness and understanding of legal and compliance policies and regulations.Minimum Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in Law or any other related field.Master’s degree is preferable.Minimum Experience:10+ years of relevant experience in legal affairs and compliance or any other related field
