We believe in the right of all people to be connected and are united in our resolution to provide communication solutions to all reaches of the world.Who We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a Head of Mechanical Design Department to drive cutting-edge technologies for next generation Gilat's Products.What You Will DoYou will lead and participate in the development and introduction of new products, maintenance and making suggestions for improvements/modifications to existing products during their lifecycle, from product concept, thermal analysis and simulation, design and documentation, testing and characterization up to product release for production.You will lead and create part definitions, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D drawing ,3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection – using SolidWorks.You will lead and design mechanical components that meet the required performance specifications.Maintenance of existing CAD designs and execution of ECOs when required.Design systems which incorporate RF modules, control electronics, power systems, cabling and cooling.Design detailed housing assemblies for highly integrated, mixed-technology systems.Organization and participation in assembly of designed prototypesParticipation in all needed kinds of test of products – environmental tests, vibration, shock etc.Participation in the process of introduction of products in production.Preparation of any needed accessory documentation related to products: instructions for assembly, instruction for testing, user manuals, maintenance instructions etc.Design, documentation and assembly of different types of test structures and jigs needed for production, test and measurements of the products during the R&D phase.RequirementsB.Sc. in mechanical engineering.Experience using 3D SolidWorksGood English language skills allowing preparation of all needed types of documents,Participation in live technical meetings and discussionsIndependent business tripsOptional Skills And AdvantagesExperience in preparation of technical documentation for production according to ISO standardsExperience in work with PLM system for control of the documentationKnowledge and experience in structural analysis and simulation using SolidWorks Simulation Premium – static analysis, vibration, shock.Knowledge and experience in thermal and CFD analysis and simulation using SolidWorks Flow SimulationExperience with MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-8591, MIL-STD-8856, MIL-STD1763 – advantage.Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout and PCBA mechanical designKnowledge of and experience in selecting materials, manufacturing methods, and surface treatments for mechanical componentsAbility to work independently, as well as part of a team.Ability to work under pressure.#GLT
