Role OverviewWe're seeking a visionary Head of Motor Design to lead the creation and growth of a new electric motor engineering team in the UK. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on developing cutting-edge propulsion systems across aerospace, automotive, and robotics applications. You'll drive the full product lifecycle while fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary motor design teamDefine product design strategy, KPIs, and technical roadmapsOversee electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical motor designLead system integration, validation, and certification effortsCollaborate cross-functionally with simulation, manufacturing, and procurement teamsDrive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and supplier engagementEnsure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standardsOwn technical documentation, design reviews, and IP developmentRequirementsMSc or PhD in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical EngineeringProven leadership in electric motor design across propulsion systemsExpertise in Motor-CAD, Maxwell, Ansys Mechanical, Fluent, and 3D CADDeep knowledge of electromagnetic, thermal, and structural analysisExperience with motor control algorithms, efficiency mapping, and simulation modelingSkilled in FMECA, FTA, DVP&R, DFMEA, PFMEA, and DOE methodologiesStrong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skillsBenefitsWhy Join Us?We want to help you be your best self, at work and at home, that's why we provide our employees with...Private health and dental care - get access to services and support when you need them.
