Location: Aarhus, Denmark Job type & start date: Full-time // as soon as possibleReports to: CEO of BME co-locationDeadline: Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis BattMan Energy is looking for a dynamic Head of Operations to spearhead the operational build-up of our co-location business unit (BME co-location). In this role, you will translate our ambitious strategy into scalable operational plans and ensure efficient execution of battery energy projects co-located with renewable energy assets. RoleAs Head of Operations, you will lead the day-to-day operations and execution of BME co-location´s projects and services. Working closely with the CEO of BME co-locations you will develop the operational infrastructure needed to scale our business. You will ensure that projects move from concept to completion smoothly by establishing effective processes for project development, engineering, procurement, construction, and asset management. The role demands both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement to build robust, high-performing operations function that can support our growth. Key Objectives:Establish and manage a best-in-class operational framework for co-located battery storage projects.Build internal processes that support scalable and replicable project delivery.Drive cross-functional coordination to align project development, procurement, and construction.Prepare BME co-location for customer and partner readiness through structured reporting and compliance.Core Responsibilities:Strategic Planning: Translate company strategy into actionable operational plans, KPIs, and measurable goals for BME co-location.Project Execution: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, project development, procurement, construction, and O&M) to deliver co-located battery storage projects on time and within budget.Process Optimization: Establish and continuously improve processes for project execution, from development and permitting through construction and commissioning to ongoing operations and maintenance, to ensure efficiency and high quality.Systems & Tools: Implement systems and tools to improve the scalability, safety, and quality of operations as the business grows, enabling us to manage a larger portfolio of projects (potentially across multiple markets).Team Building: Oversee resource planning and recruitment for operational roles; build, mentor, and manage a strong operations team capable of executing our plans and upholding our standards.Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operational activities comply with relevant safety standards, grid regulations, and environmental or permitting requirements.Partner Management: Manage relationships with key partners, contractors, and suppliers to secure necessary resources and services for project execution, while driving performance and cost-effectiveness.Performance Monitoring: Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor operational performance. Drive continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks or issues and implementing corrective actions quickly.Who you areWe imagine that you have the following qualifications and skills:Experience: 5+ years in operations management, project management, or a similar role within the energy, infrastructure, or engineering sector. (Experience with renewable energy projects or Battery Energy Storage Systems is a plus.)Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline.Operational Excellence: Proven ability to build and optimize operational processes, preferably in a fast-growing or startup environment. You have a track record of scaling operations or improving organizational efficiency.Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience coordinating diverse teams and stakeholders. You can inspire and organize people to achieve ambitious goals.Project Management: Exceptional project management skills – able to juggle multiple complex projects in parallel without losing sight of details or deadlines.Strategic & Hands-on Mindset: A strategic thinker who can see the big picture and plan ahead, and a hands-on executor who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You can simplify complex issues, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you thrive in a collaborative environment.Adaptability: A sense of urgency, resilience, and a can-do attitude. You excel in a dynamic setting where priorities can shift, and you’re comfortable making decisions in real-time.Language: Business fluency in English. (Proficiency in Danish is an advantage but not a requirement.)It’s an advantage (but not required) if you have:Experience managing large-scale construction or engineering projects, including familiarity with EPC contracts and O&M agreements.Knowledge of battery storage technology and integrating BESS with wind or solar projects.Exposure to international operations or helping a business expand into new markets.Understanding of grid connection processes, energy market participation, or other industry-specific operational aspects.
