Job Description
The Head of Procurement will be responsible for leading, developing, and implementing the procurement strategy to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and compliant sourcing of goods and services. This role requires a strong negotiator and strategic thinker who can build supplier relationships, manage budgets, and drive value creation across the organization. Responsibilities:Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.Lead the procurement team to achieve operational excellence and value for money.Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.Establish and maintain vendor management systems, including performance evaluation and risk management.Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Manage procurement budgets, forecasts, and reporting to support financial objectives.Drive cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure timely supply of goods and services.Oversee contract drafting, administration, and renewals.Champion sustainable procurement practices and support corporate social responsibility initiatives.Key Skills:Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.Strong analytical and financial acumen.Leadership and team development capabilities.High integrity, professionalism, and results-oriented approach.Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines.Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and contract law.Proven track record in vendor negotiation, cost reduction, and strategic sourcing.Experience in FMCG is highly desirable.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).Professional certification such as CIPS or equivalent is an added advantage.Minimum of 8–10 years’ progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
