These roles form part of RAF’s continued commitment to improving medical claims processing and healthcare service management within the organisation.Position DetailsPosition Title: Consultant: Medical ManagementNumber of Posts: 27Contract Type: 3-Year Fixed TermEmployer: Road Accident Fund (RAF)Educational QualificationMinimum Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Health Sciences or any Medical-related qualificationProfessional RegistrationRegistered with HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) or SANCAExperienceMinimum of 3 years’ experience in a medical-related environmentKey Performance Areas Medical ManagementConduct medical assessments and compile injury assessment reports.Review and validate submitted medical claims, ensuring the correct level of care and cost efficiency.Monitor and enforce compliance with RAF tariffs, treatment protocols, and cost-control initiatives.Pre-authorise claims aligned with RAF’s clinical guidelines and formulary protocols.Escalate complex medical cases for multidisciplinary review and adjudication.Participate in consultations on improving RAF’s medical claims processes. ReportingTrack and report progress against set objectives and targets.Identify and report emerging risks.Produce reports, briefing papers, presentations, and process improvement documents.
