Head of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)

A leading biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Head of Global Supply Chain Management to lead the strategic orchestration of its end-to-end supply chain, with a strong emphasis on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP). Candidates must be based either in Germany (preferred) or Switzerland.The OpportunityReporting to senior global leadership, you will architect and drive the global supply chain strategy across multiple biosimilar programs. You will lead the S&OP/IBP processes to align demand, supply, and financial plans across functions including Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial, ensuring agile decision-making and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesS&OP / IBP Leadership: Own and evolve the global S&OP and IBP processes across a 36-month horizon, ensuring alignment of demand forecasts, supply capabilities, and financial targets. Facilitate monthly executive reviews and scenario planning.Demand & Supply Planning: Lead global demand planning and supply balancing, integrating inputs from regional markets, manufacturing sites, and external partners. Deliver robust analytics and risk-adjusted supply strategies.Cross-Functional Governance: Chair cross-functional planning forums to ensure alignment between Commercial, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Finance teams. Drive consensus on constrained supply scenarios and launch prioritization.End-to-End Supply Chain Oversight: Manage global production planning across Drug Substance (DS), Drug Product (DP), and Finished Product (FP), optimizing capacity utilization and supplier performance.Inventory & Risk Management: Define global inventory policies and safety stock strategies. Identify supply risks and lead mitigation planning through scenario modeling and contingency frameworks.Launch Readiness: Lead supply chain readiness for new product introductions, ensuring timely availability of launch inventory and alignment with regulatory and commercial milestones.Digital & Process Excellence: Champion digital transformation and process optimization initiatives to enhance supply chain visibility, responsiveness, and data-driven decision-making.Strategic Initiatives: Support technology transfers, new product integrations, and strategic partnerships from a supply chain planning perspective.Profile & QualificationsAdvanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.Extensive experience in global supply chain, operations, or manufacturing within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry.Proven leadership in S&OP/IBP implementation and governance, with strong analytical and scenario planning capabilities.Expertise in external manufacturing, capacity planning, and product launch execution.Advanced proficiency in SAP ERP, SAP IBP, and planning/analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory frameworks, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment across global stakeholders.Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) preferred.Fluent in English; proficiency in German or other European languages is a plus.Not the right time for you?
