Head of Software Development

Zumbach Electronic AG is an internationally active Swiss family-owned company with headquarters in Orpund/Biel and its own offices worldwide. For over 60 years, we have been one of the leading manufacturers of high-tech measuring and testing systems for the cable, plastics and steel industries.Your main tasks: Manage the software development teams at the headquarter in Orpund/Biel, Switzerland, and in Barcelona, Spain (11 people in total).Establish and manage a network of collaborations with universities, institutions, service providers and other industrial partners.Looking to the future, you will play a key role in driving the company's software development in a modern way and shape the software development strategy in terms of products, methods, tools, platforms and organisation.You will combine IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) to implement solutions that enable the realisation of IioT (Industrial Internet of Things) approaches for our customers. As a hands-on, experienced engineer, you will personally contribute to ongoing R&D projects.Your profile:For this position, you bring a broad experience in the development and management of software applications in the technical field (real-time operating systems, industrial communication, control systems). You know both worlds of IT and OT and can demonstrate corresponding experience. You are interested in the implementation of complex measuring and testing systems. You always keep an overview of the essentials and can identify, assess and implement suitable solutions. For internal and external contacts, you can communicate fluently in English, ideally also in German.
