enabler REPORT TO Chief Operations Officer GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Head of Statutory will direct and manage our FluidRock Statutory business activities in line with policies, strategies, plans and values.Drafting the Statutory team's strategy and implementation planDrafting the budget for approvalManaging operational costs, achieving revenue and other targets in budgetDeveloping and monitoring ongoing resource planningEngaging, hiring, mentoring and training team membersFormulating/improving policies and processes to increase efficiencyContinually improving client service through monitoring and enabling team membersGenerating new businessIdentifying opportunities and monitoring financial activitiesBuilding trusting relationships with clientsEnsuring sustainabilityEmbrace, cultivate and sustain the high-performance people-centric cultureEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS A tertiary or Post Graduate qualification in Business, Law or relevant discipline (Chartered Secretaries of South Africa / LLB or other legal qualification is advantageous) OTHER QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 10 years’ experience in corporate governance and/or business environment, 5 years in managementThorough understanding of the Companies Act and corporate governance frameworksHighly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and business communication toolsKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES KEY DUTIES Oversee Statutory OperationsDevelop / enhance and manage division's operational systems, processes and policies in support of the FluidRock vision, values and strategy toensure quality on time delivery to internal and external clients.improve workflows with the intention to eliminate manual work and duplications.Oversee day-to-day Statutory operations, assigning performance goals to the team and assuring their completion.Drive initiatives throughout the Statutory team, management team and in FluidRock that contribute to long-term operational excellence.Collaborate with all FluidRock divisions to ensure client service excellence.Take ownership of the Statutory marketing plan and execute in collaboration with Shared Services Business DevelopmentResponsible for short-term, medium-term and long-term strategic planning.Define strategic goals and developing clear plans to implement them.Creating business plans to support FluidRock’s objectives regarding the six capitals.Remain up to date with developments in the industry by for example attending conferences, meetings and industry events .Assess and identify new opportunities for growth in current and prospective markets including upselling into current clients.Pursue and generate leads, prepare proposals and onboard new clients.Sustain current market position and grow the division inline with the strategy.Develop, innovate and oversee the Statutory division's services.Anticipate clients' needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.Ensure the retention of current clients through continual stakeholder management.Support marketing team by providing the requisite articles, information and content.Stakeholder ManagementCreate and maintain a stakeholder management framework to support the Client Relationship Management process including ensuring effective use of SalesForce.Enable effective communication and information flow with all stakeholders (internal & external).Build a trusted relationship with all stakeholders, ensuring they are proactively and effectively engaged as required.Ensure that all FluidRock systems, policies, processes and changes thereto are effectively planned, collaborated, managed, communicated and understood by the FluidRock Statutory Team Members and other relevant stakeholdersEstablish an effective liaison role with all stakeholders to ensure that a two-way liaison channel is created and maintained, and those matters concerning FluidRock and relevant stakeholders are addressed effectively and efficiently.Create an effective stakeholder liaison network by for example attending relevant meetings and forums.Ensure all relationships with FluidRock are corporatised.People ManagementMaintain and monitor the FluidRock Statutory Division’s Strategic objectives and KPI’s in line with the approved Strategy.Develop, agree and measure individual KPI’s in consultation with team member to achieve FluidRock Statutory strategic objectives.Ensure the highest levels of professionalism and client service and that the team delivers in line with the FluidRock promise.Provide direction to the Statutory Team ensuring that team members liaise positively and constructively with clients and team members within the FluidRock Group.Inspire, motivate and support the team so that they are productive and effective in delivering high quality work on time every time as well as meet business and individual objectives.Resolve conflicts between team members efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involved.Engage the team around the FluidRock values, vision and strategy, thus maximising team engagement and willingness to invest discretionary effort.Talent ManagementApply strategic human resource frameworks to test for competency through the recruitment process.Implement HR policies and procedures and analyse same in consultation with FluidRock Shared Services, as and when required.Analyse the current recruitment processes and suggest areas for improvement or risk management.Create detailed job descriptions and define appropriate compensation.Manage planning of team resource requirements and ensure sufficient capable resources are in place to meet service delivery demands.Manage detailed job descriptions and define appropriate compensation.Recruit, onboard, mentor and train high-performing team members.Identify training and development in line with the strategy.Financial ManagementPrepare, review and adjust financial budget for team capacity requirements.Prepare, review and forecast financial budgets for upcoming year.Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plan.Maintain budgets and optimise expenses.Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance.Support FluidRock Shared Services in maintaining agreed financial ratios.Recruit, onboard, mentor and train high-performing team members.Identify training and development needs in consultation with team members to achieve personal development goals and career pathing options that support FluidRock’s business plan objectives.Champion a culture of objective setting and result measurement through training and team/individual engagement.Build a high performing team, structure and depth where the best people are deployed in the right roles to deliver seamless services in line with the strategy.ReportingPrepare divisional reports and coordinate data necessary for management reporting and to support business decisions through strategic objectives and KPI’sLead reporting initiatives.Accurately analyse and collect data for various types of business reports including but not limited to:Insight into key data points from FluidRock Statutory for FluidRock,Monitor data to identify changes in financial, operational and business trends,Design new metrics and prepare reports to monitor forecast accurately and analyse all client activity trends.
