Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and commercially minded leader with strong relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities. They will support the sales team in presenting and promoting the full SMC product range and solutions across various industries, while also interpreting market trends and turning insights into practical, results-focused actions.Your key role and responsibilities:Drive Sales and Market Share: Take charge of growing sales and market share for key accounts across Australia and New Zealand by developing and executing a strong sales strategy.Lead by Example: Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and teamwork across multi-functional teams, promoting a positive, growth-focused attitude aligned with company objectives.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, senior leaders, distributors, and key customers to strengthen partnerships and ensure alignment with strategic goals.Market and Opportunity Analysis: Analyse the competitive environment to identify market opportunities and product gaps, enabling sales team to focus on high-impact opportunities and strengthen the SMC’s market position.Ensure 100% of our sales team are focussed across 100% of our customers to promote 100% of our relevant product range.Optimally allocate resources, budgets and leverage broader organisation resources to convert opportunities and target customers to maximise sales results.Pipeline and Performance Management: Ensure the strategic accounts pipeline consistently exceeds monthly sales targets, while maintaining team productivity and engagement through regular check-ins, guidance, and support.Ensure CRM system is updated with all investment opportunities to build a strong pipeline.About YouWhat you need to be successful:Trade (technical) or relevant tertiary qualification in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics highly desirableBusiness Management qualification &/or equivalent senior sales leadership experience essential.Over 10 years leadership experience in sales and business management roles within an industrial B2B environment.Proven track record in strategic selling, channel development, and successfully converting large or complex sales opportunities.Strong ability to operate in dynamic environments, act as a change agent, and foster a high-performance culture within the team while influencing customer organisations.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to customers, suppliers, and internal functions, while motivating teams to achieve goals.Skilled at identifying commercial opportunities and building strong, lasting customer relationships.Why Join Us:Join a globally respected brand and market leader with highly skilled technical and people managers across ANZInternal progression opportunitiesInsurance benefits within the company superannuation planFocus on employee Wellbeing & Employee Assistance ProgramsAnnual Salary Review processOnsite parking (available at each SMC location)About SMCSMC Corporation is a manufacturer of electro - pneumatic and industrial automation components, successful in providing innovative products and solutions to customers across a wide array of industries.
