We are continuously scouting for the right talents to fill up the roles as Head of Shariah Risk Management.Responsibilities1. Shariah Risk Leadership & GovernanceLead as the primary Single-Point-of-Contact (SPOC) with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) on Shariah Risk Management (SRM) matters. Champion the Shariah risk program and initiatives across the Group and subsidiaries.Represent Shariah Risk Management in critical committees such as Shariah Governance Working Group (SGWG), Shariah Committee (SC), Compliance & Risk Management Committees (CRMC), and Board Risk Management Committee (BRMC).Act as the Qualified Shariah Officer (QSO) for Shariah Risk Management.2.Risk Leadership & Strategic AssessmentLead risk assessments for new and existing products, programs, and operational processes from a Shariah risk perspective.Ensure all internal policies and procedures align with Shariah principles and regulatory requirements.Monitor and establish Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) specific to Shariah risks and conduct Scenario Analysis/Stress Testing.Oversee deep-dive investigations, risk control testing, and ad-hoc risk analysis for high-risk business areas.Drive the implementation of operational risk management tools such as Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Incident Management & Data Collection (IMDC), and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).3.Leadership in Shariah Risk Culture & TrainingCultivate a strong Shariah risk awareness culture within the Group and business units.Lead the development and execution of Shariah risk training programs, including e-learning initiatives via the GIEOM portal.Guide teams on risk methodologies, tools, and compliance frameworks to strengthen the organization’s Shariah risk governance.Ensure continuous improvement in risk management policies, tools, and reporting frameworks to meet BNM’s Shariah Governance Policy Document (SGPD).Advocate for Shariah compliance best practices and provide advisory support to senior management.RequirementMinimum Bachelor's degree in Shariah, Islamic Finance, Fiqh Muamalat, or relevant background.Possession of relevant professional certification is an added advantage.Minimum 8 years of working experience in Shariah Risk, Compliance or Shariah Review, or in related fields, preferably in the banking/financial industry. Minimum 3-5 years in a managerial/lead role.Proficiency and wide Islamic Banking knowledge in the areas of Fiqh Muamalat with vast experience on application of Islamic Banking’s operations.
