Job OverviewHeadache and Migraine Clinical Nurse Specialist / Allied Health Professional Band 7Frimley Health NHS Foundation TrustWe are seeking an experienced and motivated clinician to join our Neurology team as a Headache and Migraine Clinical Nurse Specialist / Allied Health Professional.The post holder will be instrumental in the care and service delivery for patients referred to Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust with headache and migraine disorders. This will include undertaking assessments for patients with new diagnoses, providing ongoing management and follow-up care, and delivering specialist advice and guidance to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, ensuring patients receive timely, evidence-based, and person-centred treatment. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to service development, education, and quality improvement initiatives within the headache and migraine service.Main duties of the jobClinical Nurse Specialist in Headache and Migraine will support and develop the Service under the direction and governance of the Neurology Clinical Lead Consultant and Neurologist with a Special Interest in Headache and Migraine.To provide expert care for patients with complex headache disorders including chronic migraine, cluster headache, and medication overuse headache.To lead nurse-led clinics, educate & advise on/prescribe migraine anti-CGRP Medications (including injectable treatments) and the use of Gepants in appropriate cases, in line with local & national guidelines.To work closely with Consultant Neurologists, Lead Integrated Neurology MDT Manager and the wider MDT to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care that meets the needs of our local community.To support patients with their own health and well-being needs through the provision of appropriate information, education, advice and support and be an expert resource who provides sound clinical advice and judgement to patients and their families/carers, nurses, allied health care professionals and resident doctors.To assist the Clinical Neurology Lead/Neurologist with Specialist Interest and Lead Integrated Neurology MDT Manager with service development, implementation, monitoring and audit of recommendations made by best practice criteria and Peer Reviews.Working for our organisationFrimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to being an inclusive and disability confident employer and has been awarded the Gold for the Armed Forces Employment Recognition Scheme.
