Our holistic, multi-disciplinary approach ensures timely, accurate and integrated delivery across architecture, engineering, project management, archaeology and geomatics.Working across countries and cultures, our teams collaborate to deliver iconic, meaningful and future-focused projects for a diverse international client base.As part of our expanding international portfolio, we are seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join our team for a project based in Benghazi, Libya.Role purposeAs Health & Safety Officer, you will oversee and monitor health and safety compliance across construction and project sites, ensuring adherence to applicable legislation, company standards and international best practices.You will play a key role in safeguarding workforce wellbeing, reducing risk exposure and maintaining structured, auditable safety systems aligned with project and client requirements.Key responsibilitiesAct as Health & Safety Supervisor across projects of varying scale and complexity.Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and approved safety plans.Produce inspection reports and monitor corrective actions through to closure.Ensure compliance with applicable local regulations and international H&S standards.Support the development and maintenance of safety policies, procedures and risk assessments.Review Construction Method Statements and monitor contractor safety performance.Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.Respond effectively to emergencies and site incidents.Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness sessions for site teams.Liaise with contractors, consultants and client representatives on H&S matters.Maintain accurate records and structured documentation of all safety-related activities.What you bringRecognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, ideally within the construction industry.Proven experience in health and safety supervision within construction or AEC environments.Strong understanding of H&S legislation, ISO standards and international best practices.Experience reviewing method statements, conducting risk assessments and managing compliance documentation.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities.What we offerHigh-impact role in a fast-growing, international environment.Exposure to complex, high-profile projects and cross-disciplinary teams.Clear development pathway and the opportunity to shape planning standards at QP.Competitive package aligned to experience.Location: Benghazi, Libya
