To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.HEALTH IMPROVEMENT OFFICER SEXUAL HEALTH AND BLOOD BORNE VIRUSBAND 6; 22.5 HOURSSALARY SCALE: £41,608 - £50,702 PRO RATAWe require an individual who has relevant current health improvement experience at an operational level and qualifications in health promotion/improvement/public health.Working predominantly in the Sexual Health and BBV Managed Care Network (SHBBV MCN), the post holder will contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of evidence-based health promotion activities with the overall aim improving sexual and reproductive health, particularly of vulnerable populations, preventing Blood Borne Viruses (BBV) and improving the health and wellbeing of people living with a BBV in Tayside and reducing health inequalities.This will involve the co-ordination of and leading work to support health improvement with partners across Tayside including in health services, education, third sector, and social care settings. Listening to and involving people who are affected by poor sexual health and BBV is at the heart of all our work.The role includes development and delivery of training sessions, provision of specialist advice and partnership working to deliver health improvement projects. In addition, the role includes support for delivery of the cool2talk question and answer service for young people.Applicants should be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and have a postgraduate diploma (or equivalent experience) in public health/health promotion. Excellent communication and influencing skills combined with knowledge of health improvement theory and practice are essential for this post.The post holder will be required to travel to cover duties throughout a wide geographical area and must be flexible as occasional out-of-hours working may be required.You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
