Director of Data & Analytics

Our client is looking for an energetic, goal-oriented, and self-motivated Director, Data & Analytics with a passion for social change to join their team. This is an opportunity to join one of Canada’s first and North America’s most successful social technology organizations. They are looking for a full-time Director, Data & Analytics. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Director, Data & Analytics is responsible for leading the development and execution of data analysis strategy, partnering with the leadership team to drive business impact through data-informed decision making.

This role oversees a team of four, and will be responsible for enhancing and leveraging their vast data set in order to deliver advanced analytics that drive operational efficiencies as well as incremental donation and subscription revenue, including the development of new, client-facing, data products. Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business leads to develop a deep understanding of key business drivers and goals for charity, donor and internal operations divisions and deliver relevant analytics solutionsCreate and oversee execution of the strategy for the analytics team to leverage data science and machine learning with accountability for building a deeper internal understanding of the business and marketing performance markers as well as improving and developing new client-facing data productsIdentify and implement opportunities to enhance the dataset with external dataContribute to the company’s annual planning process as well as long-term business analytics and intelligence vision and roadmapLead data governance and retention policies and processes, ensuring data best practices that adhere to all applicable federal and provincial regulationsBuild on a data-driven culture throughout the entire organization and drive adoption of new data tools and processes.

Ensure alignment across teams based on their individual data needsWork in a hands-on fashion to ensure successful execution of data initiativesMentor and develop team of data analysts and scientists and support their professional development and be a member of the Management TeamIdentify opportunities to leverage the latest trends and technologies in data analytics, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data visualization toolsOversee the Analytics team’s budget, tools, and resource planning to ensure effective operationRequired Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in a quantitative field or equivalent10+ years in data analytics/science, with SaaS experience preferredProficiency in SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)Experience with database modeling, ETL, and modern query languagesKnowledge of statistical methods, machine learning, and A/B testingProven leadership of data teams in fast-paced, scaling environmentsAbility to collaborate with executive and cross-functional teamsStrong communication, project management, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
