Job SummaryThe Transportation Specialist will operate Homeboy Industries' shuttling service utilizing our 15-seat passenger vans and various other company vehicles. The Transportation Specialist will be tasked with performing operator-level inspections on company vehicles and operating the shuttle and various Homeboy Industries vehicles safely and reliably, with minimum oversight as this is a self-guided role. The Transportation Specialist will need to obtain and maintain a Class C Driver’s License, at minimum, and will be subject to random drug testing, if necessary.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for transporting Homeboy trainees between Homeboy’s various social enterprises and program locations, based on the needs and requests that arisesLoad, transport, and unload packages weighing as much as 40 poundsPerform operator-level inspections on all company levels and operate all shuttles safely and reliablyThoroughly clean company vehicles, as required, on a weekly basisQualifications and Experience: 1-2 years of driving experience and a solid safety record is requiredMust have a clean DMV driving recordMust have and maintain a California Driver’s License (required)Time management, self-instructed and a strong sense of people friendly skillsFlexibility with work schedule.
