Job DescriptionAre you passionate about plants and possess specialized knowledge in orchid cultivation? We are looking for a skilled and dedicated horticulturist to join our team and take the lead in managing and enhancing our gardens, with a strong focus on orchid care, propagation, and display. Key Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and maintain garden landscapes with a focus on ornamental and native orchid species. Propagate orchids through various methods such as division, tissue culture, and seed germination. Monitor plant health and diagnose diseases or pest issues, with an emphasis on orchid-specific concerns.
Develop orchid display areas and ensure high aesthetic standards are maintained year-round. Implement environmentally sustainable horticultural practices and integrated pest management. Coordinate with landscaping and grounds teams to ensure consistent care and upkeep of all plant life. Maintain accurate records of plant care, inventory, and seasonal blooming schedules. Educate team members and guests about orchid species and proper care techniques. QualificationsDegree or diploma in horticulture, botany, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in horticulture, with hands-on expertise in orchid care and propagation. Deep knowledge of orchid species, their growth conditions, and maintenance practices.
Familiarity with greenhouse operations, irrigation systems, and organic pest control. Creative mindset with a keen eye for landscaping and plant aesthetics. Certifications in sustainable horticulture or orchid cultivation. Knowledge of tropical plant species and their care. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
