We are on the hunt for enthusiastic, positive, and energetic people who thrive on creating moments that guests will remember long after they leave.Role OverviewThe Rudding Park team's core purpose is to create timeless memories and instinctive care in exceptional spaces.To be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Hotel and House Receptions providing the highest level of service to guests at all times.What We Are Looking ForPassionate about providing our guests with the best serviceGenuinely care about the guest experienceEmpathetic and a caring, passionate personalityUnderstand that our service is second to none and therefore be able to demonstrate our core values: empathy, drive, collaboration, trust and passion.Have experience of working in a 4 star hotel or similarHave excellent spoken and written English.Possess a confident telephone mannerPossess excellent numerical and written skillsHave knowledge and experience of working with computer systems and Microsoft Office programmes, including Word and ExcelA knowledge of Harrogate and the surrounding areas is beneficial, as you will deal with queries regarding local attractions and help guests with travel arrangements as necessary.Offer a warm welcome at all times in a friendly and professional manner.Excellent interpersonal skills, including a pleasant telephone manner.Ability to remain calm during difficult situations or in a very busy environment.Good administrative skills and IT literacy.Discreet, diplomatic, reliable and trustworthy.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide the highest level of service to guests at all timesChecking in/out of hotel guestsLiaising with Housekeeping regarding bedroom allocations and guests' requirementsDeal with guest complaints seeking support if necessary in order to resolve the complaint to the guest's complete satisfactionTaking reservations for hotel restaurantsShow our guests to their bedrooms and explain points of interest and bedroom facilitiesWork closely with day host to make sure that guest luggage is stored, delivered to the room accordinglyTelephone duties including answering switchboard, taking messages, paging colleagues, emailing telephone messages and use of Outlook and responding for any special requests for the guest in houseProviding a business support service for clients and conference delegates e.g. word processing, photocopyingTo assist Reservations with any overflow phone calls ensuring the best service for our guestsMeeting guests dealing with questions and queries as required , call reservations/meeting for any potential business within the resortCompleting the function board for the day's eventsRecording items of lost property and liaising with the Housekeeping Department to return property to guestMonitoring the Fire Board and responding to any abnormalities in accordance with Company policy and procedureComplete any guest correspondence, Clocktower questionnaires or forward checking reportsPerform checks for arrival both for hotel guests and function guestsWhen working in House Reception perform any required physical checks to ensure that the areas are to Rudding Park's expected standards of excellenceAssist with any required correspondence for the Operations Manager or Managing DirectorOnce trained to carry out Reception Duty Manager shifts when required on a rota basisBe responsible for knowing what is going on the business day ensuring that you are aware of what guests are coming in, what events are taking place at Rudding ParkIn return for your hard work and commitment we offer: Enhanced pay - 50p per hour for evening work after 7pm (Sunday - Thursday), £1 per hour for weekend day work until 7pm (Saturdays and Sundays), £1.50 per hour for evenings from 7pm (Friday and Saturdays)Service Charge (Tronc) earn up to an additional £5,000 per yearCompany sick pay for up to 4 weeksA range of discounts including 50% off spa days and dining, not to mention preferential room rates for employees and family (subject to availability of course)Annual party, family fun days, and award dinners - we love to celebrate!Up to 30 days annual leave, increasing with length of serviceComplimentary overnight stay for you and a guest (including dinner, bed and breakfast with spa) when you complete a three month probationFREE food and drink; The Green Room is our team's dedicated space to chill out, when not 'on stage' looking after our guests.
