Job Title: HR and Payroll Specialist (US/Canadian)Job Type: Permanent position, 5 days on-site, Calgary Alberta.Job Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 / Year 🌟 Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled HR and Payroll Specialist with proven experience managing payroll and HR operations across both the United States and Canada. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations while supporting a seamless employee experience across borders. 🎯 Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll AdministrationProcess biweekly/monthly payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy and timelinessMaintain compliance with IRS, CRA, state/provincial, and local tax regulationsPrepare and file statutory documents including W-2s, T4s, ROEs, and other year-end reportsReconcile payroll accounts and coordinate with Finance for audits and reportingManage benefits deductions, garnishments, and cross-border compensation structuresHR OperationsSupport onboarding/offboarding processes for U.S. and Canadian employeesMaintain employee records in HRIS systems and ensure data accuracy across jurisdictionsAdvise on employment standards, labor laws, and workplace policies in both countriesCoordinate benefits enrollment, leave management, and employee relations issuesAssist with cross-border transfers, remote work arrangements, and immigration supportCompliance & ReportingStay current on employment law changes in both countries and update policies accordinglyGenerate reports on headcount, turnover, compensation, and other HR metricsEnsure data privacy compliance under PIPEDA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations 🧠 QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field3–5 years of HR and payroll experience, with direct exposure to both U.S. and Canadian systemsStrong knowledge of ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, Workday, or similar platformsFamiliarity with U.S. FLSA, ACA, and Canadian ESA, CPP, EI frameworksExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills 🌍 Preferred ExperienceExperience with cross-border employment and remote workforce managementBilingual in English and French (an asset)Certification such as PCP, CPM, or CPP (U.S.) preferred 💼 What We OfferCompetitive compensation and benefitsOpportunities for cross-border career developmentInclusive and collaborative work culture
