Punahou School is currently recruiting a Human Resources Specialist to join the Office of Human Resource Development team. If you thrive in an environment where you can manage diverse responsibilities and maintain a welcoming front-desk atmosphere, we encourage you to apply!Working under minimal supervision, you will be an essential member of the HR team, handling both administrative and entry-level HR functions. Your main duties will include, but are not limited to:Talent Acquisition Assist with the full life cycle recruitment process, including generating candidate pools, screening applications, scheduling interviews, assessing candidates qualifications, extending conditional job offers, manging candidate onboarding and conducting orientation. Engage and energize candidates through the recruitment process and new employees on their first day. Maintains records and records management systems through filing, retrieval, retention, storage compilation, coding, updating and destruction. Accurately and confidentially maintains appropriate personnel records and files. Reviews source documents to determine intended action, correctness, sufficiency of information and conformance with procedures. Departmental & Administrative Support Serve as the primary front-desk representative, answering phones, screening calls, greeting visitors (internal and external), and directing inquiries. Coordinate departmental logistics, including managing schedules, handling complex correspondence, ordering supplies, and scheduling equipment repairs. Provides administrative support functions to the department. Assist with employee inquiries. Accurately and confidentially maintain all records and records management systems, including filing, retrieval, and retention of important documents. Handle general clerical duties related to employment, such as mail distribution, employment verification, and tracking employment forms/clearances. Position Details: Work Year: 12 Months Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs Minimum Hourly Rate: $25.60/Hour Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay. Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Two (2) years of administrative experience in a high-volume office environment, ideally with exposure to Human Resources (HR) functions. Direct HR administrative experience preferred. Experience working in a school environment preferred. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with employees, leadership, students, and external visitors. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage projects, prioritize tasks, and provide recommendations for process improvements. P rofessional, approachable demeanor and the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Certification in CPR/First Aid or other emergency procedures preferred.
