The on and offshore teams at UOS are highly experienced with a long track record of delivering safe and reliable operations to end clients in just about every offshore energy basin around the world.We are actively looking for a HR Superintendent to join our Team!This is a hybrid role, offering a combination of remote and in-office work, based out of one of our office locations in either Leer, Germany or Aberdeen, UK.The HR Superintendent is responsible for managing crew travel logistics, crew change operations, and all related activities. This role also plays a key part in the recruitment and retention of highly qualified and experienced personnel who meet or exceed industry standards and stakeholder expectations. The HR Superintendent ensures that all crew operations are conducted efficiently and cost-effectively, in compliance with national and international regulations. The position also oversees the maintenance of up-to-date crew certifications and system records, while providing active support in the administration of tenders and other HR-related initiatives.ResponsibilitiesPrepares the offshore rotation schedules to ensure that all vessels are adequately manned with suitably trained and competent personnel in all disciplines.Being the focal point of contact for crew change operations and planning.Manages crew travel arrangements with all related logistics in a cost-effective way.Maintains the personnel files in the database and ensures that the files are always complete and up to date. documents needed for crew to travel safely.Ensures legal instructions and maritime laws and regulations are compiled and followed.Creates, maintains, analyses and monitors budgets.Monitors legal instructions and maritime laws and regulations, ensuring new/local regulations are followed. Monitors the compliance of national and international labor law and maritime legislations such as STCW, MLC and others.Drives the development processes of the crewing department to provide a high standard service to the stakeholders.Takes active part in the recruitment process, this includes organizing and leading job interviews, appointments and reference checks of crew.Oversees the training matrix and ensures that crew is equipped with the right training to comply with tender requirements, maritime legislation and UOS standards.Monitors crew performance reports and discuss the performance with crew accordingly.Takes an active part in audits and follow ups and ensures that systems and certificates are up to the required standards. Performs vessel visits, provides reports and drives follow up actions.Communicates with: travel agents (Travel arrangements, hotel booking, etc.); manning agencies and international authorities.Fulfils other administrative duties.QualificationsDegree or experience in HR, Nautical Science or similar3 – 5 years’ experience in related field within an international shipping companyExperience in organizational development and workforce solutionsExtensive experience with STCW and MLC regulationsStrong written and verbal communication skills at all levelsAbility to work using own initiative, plan and organize a high and varied workload, and deal with changing/conflicting demands and priorities within the focus of the business.Working unsupervised or within a team towards a shared goal to take responsibility for effectiveness of work and cost efficiency.Demonstrates confidentiality and integrity in all professional mattersExperience in dealing with confidential and highly sensitive information.High level of professional and personal integrityExperience with international travel arrangementsGood knowledge in MS OfficeExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
