We are looking for an HSE Business Partner who is passionate about creating safe, high-performing workplaces and who wants a genuine seat at the table.In this role, you’ll take ownership of HSE across New Zealand, with a key focus on our Warehouse & Distribution operations - two sites in Auckland and a smaller site in Christchurch, as well as our Frontline Sales teams. You’ll be a key member of the W&D Leadership Team, driving best-practice safety and partnering closely with leaders and frontline teams to embed a strong safety culture. You’ll also be part of ITW’s broader ANZ H&S team, a connected group that shares expertise, aligns best practice, and ensures consistency across regions. What You’ll Do:As our HSE Business Partner you will:Make a difference: Step into the role of HSE Business Partner and make a real impact as a trusted subject matter expert in health, safety, and environment. You’ll work hand in hand with leaders and teams, applying your expertise to make ITW a safer place to work, creating smarter, safer ways of working that meet New Zealand standards and reflect industry best practice.You’ll own and continuously improve safety processes, controls and reporting, delivering clear, timely insights that support informed decision making and drive strong safety performance at every level. Collaborate: Partner with ITW Construction Business leaders to foster a strong safety culture through visible leadership and genuine engagement. You'll help create a workforce that lives safe practices, systems and behaviours and provide practical guidance to ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices. Apply your SME Expertise: Have a solid understanding of RTWP and ACC engagement and procedures, applying this knowledge to support compliance and effective safety management. Lead programs that ensure the safe and compliant handling, storage, and transport of dangerous goods, including adherence to proper manual handling techniques and continuous improvement of related safety practices.Safety Systems, Processes and Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of all accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions. Review and improve safety systems, SOPs, and site compliance based on audit findings, incident learnings, and feedback, driving continuous improvement across the business.What You'll Bring:• HSE Experience: Junior to mid-level HSE business partner experience, ideally in an operational environment.• Influence & Impact: Ability to constructively challenge and influence outcomes, connecting with both senior leaders and frontline teams to drive a positive safety culture.• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of New Zealand health and safety laws and regulations, with working knowledge of Safety Management Systems and their practical application.• Safety Leadership: Proven ability to embed and grow a proactive safety culture, translating complex requirements into practical, operationally relevant solutions.• Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrated experience partnering effectively with business leaders to achieve shared goals.• Technical Expertise: Experience in dangerous goods handling, psychological safety, compliance, and related H&S practices (preferred).• Problem Solving & Clarity: Ability to simplify complex issues, identify focus areas, and implement practical solutions.• Training & Development: Experience developing and delivering health and safety training, induction processes, and learning modules.• Business Alignment: Skilled at connecting operational realities with best-practice safety, ensuring safety initiatives are practical, achievable, and impactful.
