Human Resources and IT Staffing Expert (Contract – Expert Review Role)Nuance Legal • Contract • Washington DC–Baltimore Area (On-site)One-time / Short Contract | Litigation Technology EngagementCompany DescriptionNuance Legal is a litigation technology consultancy specializing in e-discovery, metadata analysis, and AI-governed defensibility frameworks.We support law firms, corporations, and pro se litigants by building audit-ready, bias-sensitive, and defensible discovery workflows using existing legal tech and AI systems.Our work sits at the intersection of law, data, and human expertise, ensuring that every document, dataset, and workflow can withstand legal scrutiny.Nuance Legal is currently expanding its expert network for a federally active employment discrimination matter involving IT staffing practices, job role classification, and HRIS-generated evidence.Role DescriptionNuance Legal is seeking a Human Resources and IT Staffing Expert for a limited-scope contract engagement.This is not a recruiting job—it is an expert analysis role.The expert will evaluate job classifications, staffing definitions, and role distinctions inside IT teams (particularly Salesforce, data, and project-based roles).Your professional insights will help determine whether job titles, descriptions, and staffing decisions adhere to recognized HR/IT industry standards.The engagement requires the ability to issue a written expert statement, and depending on the matter, potentially a notarized affidavit.This is a one-time, project-based contract.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate IT job classification accuracy and staffing frameworks, specifically determining whether Salesforce Business Analyst, Salesforce Functional Analyst, Data Analyst, and Project Manager roles are properly defined and non-interchangeable based on industry standards.Review and analyze job role definitions relevant to Salesforce, data analyst and project managementProvide professional insight on whether certain IT roles are interchangeable or distinct according to HR industry standardsPrepare a short expert summary or written opinion (Nuance Legal will template and support)Consult with the litigation technology team to ensure industry accuracyParticipate in one or two meetings to clarify findings (virtual)Qualifications8–10+ years of experience in HR, IT staffing, technical recruiting, or workforce planningStrong understanding of role distinctions in tech environments, especially:Salesforce Business AnalystSalesforce Functional AnalystData AnalystProject ManagerProven ability to explain HR classifications clearly and professionallyExperience with staffing compliance, HR frameworks, or job architectureExceptional communication skills; ability to present findings professionallyBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field (preferred)Prior experience with legal, e-discovery, or expert witness work is highly valued but not requiredContract DetailsFlat-fee engagementLimited scope (one-time expert analysis + optional affidavit)Support from Nuance Legal’s litigation technology and defensibility teamMust be U.S.-based and available to sign a confidentiality agreement
