Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for maintaining all staff employment documents, personnel files and assisting with all daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. Including, but not limited to, labor law compliance, payroll, benefits, leave, time keeping and enforcing church HR policies and practices. This is a part-time, in-office in-person role working 20 hours per week. Candidates selected for employment will be required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.REPORTS TO:Director of Human ResourcesPRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of employment files and recordsPerform periodic audits of HR files and records, collect and file all required documents appropriatelyAssist with payroll preparation, correction and auditingPoint of contact for all TimeClock inquiriesCoordinate and assist with any HR staff eventsProvide administrative support to HR by processing paperwork and ensuring compliance with HR policiesAssist in maintaining the HR database, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurateAssist with HR special projects and perform other duties as assignedOnboarding and Offboarding assistance as neededQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Must be organized, have a strong attention to detail and work within a deadlineMust be able to work well with peopleMust have good communications skillsMust be able to problem solvePrevious HR experience preferred but not requiredPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be outgoing and personable and comfortable working with multiple individuals; is a self-starter and requires minimal supervision.
