Job DescriptionThe Business HR (BHR) is an integral part of the HR team and our organization. In this role, the BHR will provide the foundational support and functional expertise that drives proactivity and results across business and people strategy. The BHR will handle generalist responsibilities including onboarding of new employees, employee relations and engagement, growth and development, performance & talent management, people metrics/reporting and payroll administration, partnering with line management on HR and business needs and special projects. The BHR will also coach managers in leading teams, living the Sutherland values, and Winning behaviors and conforming to standard policies/processes.The candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to help the Site and program on employee matters, advocate Sutherland culture and values, and guide senior leaders on people matters by bringing creative and effective ideas & solutions. The incumbent will be an individual contributor supporting needs of 700+ Employees.Key Responsibilities:Ensure full compliance with all labour and related laws and regulations.Support the entire employee lifecycle to ensure the attraction, engagement, and retention of employees.Schedule and record committee meetings.Address and assist in controlling high absenteeismAssist with the performance management process.Manage payroll and administration, which includes, but not limited toStaff benefits benefit administration, including liaising with the broker and financePayroll submissions and payroll related queries, including administration of UIF documents.Assist with labour relation related disputes and procedures.BBBEE Submission to the Department of Labour, WSP/ATRSupport training related interventionsSupport the implementation of human resources strategy and planning aligned to the business strategy.Support staff members with escalated time and attendance, payroll and GHRS queriesUpdating of staff files.Support the solutions and approaches to build morale, improve workplace relationships, and boost productivity and retention.Maintain company policies to stay abreast with changing labor laws.Communication of policies and procedures to the organisation.Support management of disciplinary issues and IR meetings.Dispute resolutions at CCMA when necessary.Performance management process – guide and assist, ensure compliance.Guidance on employee relations and/or grievance handling, to ensure that employee relations strengthen and remain strong.Assist Managers to deal with misconduct/incapacity matters.Coordinates and monitors Annual Employee Performance ReviewsSchedule, record, monitor compliance of the following committee meetings:Within the Total Rewards guidelines, consults with line managers on various R&R programs for individuals and teams, if required.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & AttributesThorough and advanced understanding of Labour legislations, HR practices and working across the employee life cycleKnowledge of local job market and the IT/ITES industryAbility to collaborate and facilitate Payroll and HRMS.Ability to thrive in a fast paced and changing environment with multiple priorities a mustAbility to coach and mentor and resolve employee issues with sensitivity, objectivity & empathyStrong Business Communication skills with the ability to influence & convince diverse stakeholders by objectively presenting & challenging viewsProficient in data analytics, process orientations & exception handlingHigh integrity, strong sense of urgency, collaboration, and execution excellenceEducationGraduate/Post-Graduate in HR or related domains.Working knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. BCEA, EEA, SDA, OHSA, COIDA.Experience3 to 5 years of relevant HR Experience, preferably in BPOExperience in payroll administration management and HR complianceAbility to work in MS OfficeAbility to present information clearly and in a compelling manner to Senior Management, Managers, and line employeesThe pro-active approach in developing trust and professional rapport with employees and team members; able to be a team-playerAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
