Reporting to the HR Manager, Training & Development, the HR Generalist provides operational and administrative support across the full range of Human Resources functions, with a primary focus on the coordination and administration of training, learning, and compliance initiatives.This role is responsible for managing employee training records, coordinating in-person and virtual training events, monitoring mandatory training compliance, and supporting staff with system and technical issues. The HR Generalist also contributes to other HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding and orientation, HR administration, health and safety, and compliance reporting.WORK ARRANGEMENT:This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of one day per week in the office, subject to change based on operational or management needs.THE ROLE:Reporting to the HR manager your role will be responsible for: Training & DevelopmentCoordinate, schedule, and administer all employee training programs and events (in-person and virtual).Manage and maintain accurate training records and documentation in LMS365 and ADP.Monitor training completion and expiry dates for all mandatory training.Provide technical support to staff for login issues, system access, and virtual training setup.Liaise with internal and external facilitators to ensure successful training delivery.Track attendance, completion rates, and related training metrics.General HR ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the HR department.Assist with the full-cycle recruitment process as needed, including job postings, interview coordination, and reference checks.Support employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring completion of required documentation and training.Maintain and update employee records and HR databases in ADP and other systems.Prepare HR-related letters, forms, and documentation with a high degree of accuracy.Track probationary periods, visa expirations, and compliance requirements.Support HR audits, reporting, and policy compliance reviews.Assist with HR projects, health and safety initiatives, and process improvements.Participate in organizational events, staff engagement activities, and internal committees as required.Perform other HR-related duties and ad hoc administrative tasks as assigned.WHAT YOU BRING:Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Training & Development, Education, or a related field.Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably within a large organization.Experience coordinating employee training programs and HR projects.Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, LMS365, and ADP, with expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing data.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.Ability to troubleshoot and support staff experiencing system or technical issues related to training access or completion.Flexibility to take on additional HR-related tasks, events, and committee work as needed.CHRP designation preferred or working toward completion.DS CORE COMPETENCIES High Performance in the following Mandatory Core Competencies:Advocating for OthersCreative Problem Solving & Decision MakingDeveloping OthersHolding People AccountableManaging ChangeRelationship/Network BuildingResource ManagementWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?At VITA we care about each other, reaching our potential and making a difference in our communities.
