Regional Director EuropeThe International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) is the global community and knowledge hub for the international association meetings industry. Founded in 1963, ICCA specialises in the international association meetings sector; offering unrivalled data, education, communication channels, as well as business development and networking opportunities. Today, ICCA is one of the most prominent organisations in – and advocates for – the world of international meetings and has over 1,100 member companies and organisations in almost 100 countries and territories worldwide that represent the main specialists in organizing, transporting, and accommodating international meetings and events.

The newly-launched ICCA Association Community offers associations across the world education, connections, tools and resources to help them organise more effective and successful meetings. ICCA has a global presence with a head office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and regional offices in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North America. What are we looking for?Are you ready to help shape ICCA’s growth across Europe? As one of two Regional Directors, you will take responsibility for a specific part of the region.

You’ll work closely with the CEO, collaborate with your fellow Regional Director, and be supported by ICCA’s Head Office teams – including Marketing, Events, and Education – to ensure that our European members gain the full value of their ICCA membership. You will be the key contact for members, European Chapter Chairs, and external partners. Your market insights will guide ICCA’s Head Office, helping us spot opportunities and stay ahead in the meetings industry. Our headquarters are in Amsterdam — a vibrant city full of energy and diverse talent.

We understand the importance of flexibility, so (partial) remote working from another EU country is open for discussion.

Your roleManage and grow ICCA membership across Europe (recruitment and retention)Develop and implement membership strategies tailored to different European countriesDrive growth in revenue per member and increase sign-ups for partnership programmesMaintain strong partnerships with a creative, personalised approach aligned with ICCA valuesIdentify innovative case studies and encourage volunteers to speak or teach at ICCA eventsRepresent ICCA in the region and build long-term relationships with members and Chapter ChairsProvide timely, accurate feedback to ICCA management and the Board on economic and business trendsManage delegated budgets for activities, travel, and projectsAbout youYou hold at least a bachelor’s degreeYou have at least five years’ experience in an international organisation (knowledge of ICCA culture is a plus)You’re willing, if needed, to relocate to Amsterdam and can obtain the necessary work and residence permits (ideally, you already hold these permits)You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of two or more additional European languages is a bonusYou have proven experience in marketing and/or sales, including sponsorship, strategic partnerships or acquisition, within the international meetings industryYou have relevant experience in the association meetings sectorYou have a clear vision, innovative mindset, and the confidence to challenge and influence management when appropriateYou are resourceful, reliable, and detail-orientedWhat we offerA fixed-term contract for one year, with a strong prospect of permanent employment; 37.
