Caron & Partners LLP is a mid-sized Calgary law firm with over 55 years [RM1] of experience providing high-quality legal services and strategic counsel. Our growing Immigration Practice is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Business Immigration Legal Assistant to support our corporate and employer clients. This role is ideal for an experienced legal assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with sophisticated business clients, and takes pride in managing complex immigration files from start to finish. OverviewThe Business Immigration Legal Assistant will provide primary support in employer-driven and economic immigration matters, including LMIA applications, work permits (LMIA-based and exempt), other temporary resident visa application, and permanent residence pathways. You will work closely with lawyers, corporate clients, and foreign workers to ensure files are managed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with preparing and submitting business immigration (TR and PR) applicationsDraft application cover letters, employer support letters, and compliance documentationAssist with preparation and submission of economic permanent residence applicationsUsing IRCC, ESDC, and provincial online portalsMaintain organized electronic and physical client filesCoordinate with corporate clients, HR representatives, and foreign workersCollect and review supporting documentation and ensure completenessMonitor application timelines and follow up on outstanding itemsPrepare and process client invoices and monthly billingsAssist with account management and payment arrangementsSchedule meetings, manage correspondence, and respond to routine inquiriesSupport lawyers in managing high-volume business immigration caseloads Qualifications & ExperienceLegal Assistant Diploma from an accredited institutionMinimum of 2 years’ experience as an Immigration Legal AssistantDemonstrated experience in Business Immigration and employer-driven applicationsStrong knowledge of:o   LMIA processeso   Employer Compliance Regimeo   LMIA-exempt categories (ICT, C11, specialized knowledge, professionals, etc.)o   Provincial Nominee Programso   Federal economic permanent residence classes and Express EntryExperience working with corporate and institutional clientsProficiency with immigration portals, including:o   LMIA Portalo   Employer Portalo   Representative Portalo   Job Banko   PR PortalExcellent written and verbal English communication skillsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-drivenAbility to manage multiple files and prioritiesStrong teamwork and client-service orientationProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and Adobe Additional language skills are an assetWhat We OfferA collaborative and supportive professional environmentExposure to complex, high-level immigration filesOpportunities for professional growth and skill developmentCompetitive compensation and benefitsLong-term career opportunity within a respected firm  Job Type: Full-time, PermanentIf you are interested, please submit your cover letter and resume.
