Give us a call; we really do make the difference.Position Title: Corporate In-House CounselPractice Area: Corporate / Commercial Law Location: Toronto (Hybrid)The OpportunityOur client, a prominent and expanding organization in the energy sector, owns and operates multiple energy facilities and participates in the development, operation, and financing of power-related projects across Canada. They are seeking an experienced Corporate In-House Lawyer to join their legal team in Toronto.This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and business-minded lawyer to contribute to a dynamic organization while enjoying a balanced hybrid work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and commercial agreements.Support M&A, joint ventures, and financing transactions as required.Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance.Manage employment-related matters, including coordination with external counsel where necessary.Advise on and assist with RFPs, tenders, and procurement processes.Collaborate cross-functionally with business, operations, and finance teams to achieve strategic objectives.Qualifications and ExperienceMinimum of 6 years’ experience in corporate/commercial law gained in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.LL.B. or J.D., and licensed to practice law in Ontario (in good standing with the LSO).Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills with attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Prior experience with energy, power projects, or infrastructure transactions will be considered a strong asset.Why ApplyThis is an excellent opportunity to move in-house with a stable and growing energy company that values collaboration, professional development, and work-life balance.If you are interested, please send your CV in confidence to: 📧 ben@cartelinc.com
