The company manages investments across equities, fixed income, and multi-asset solutions, with offices in several major Asian markets. It’s known for its strong regional expertise and long-term investment approach.Goal of the roleThis position replaces a departing IT Manager and requires managing a broad range of general IT responsibilities with a primary focus on infrastructure. The role involves daily coordination with external vendors and supporting the IT team's ongoing transition to a cloud-based environment. The successful candidate will also contribute to future AI adoption initiatives.TeamA 3-member IT team reporting to the local IT Director and collaborating closely with the APAC IT officeKEY RESPONSIBILITIESProject Leadership: Lead and execute Tokyo office IT projects (including infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and security initiatives) in alignment with regional and global IT strategies.Risk Management: Identify and manage local IT risks such as aging infrastructure, security vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps; develop and implement mitigation plans.Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for external third-party vendors, ensuring effective project delivery and ongoing operational support.Technical Expertise: Act as a subject-matter expert in key IT domains (e.g., Infrastructure, Cloud, Workplace Technology, Information Security), collaborating with colleagues and business users to deliver appropriate solutions.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCERequired:7+ years of experience in IT roles such as infrastructure management, systems operations, or project management, preferably in an international or multi-regional environment.Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering IT projects.Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Windows Server, networking, and cloud platforms (Azure, Microsoft 365).Solid foundational knowledge in information security, including access management, vulnerability management, IT risk and governance, and third-party security assessments.Experience managing relationships with external vendors and service providers.Fluent/native-level Japanese and business-level English (strong reading/writing skills; conversational speaking ability).Preferred:Experience in application development or technical support.Knowledge of AI technologies, Salesforce, or similar business platforms.Background in the financial services industry.Benefit-The company encourages employees to voice ideas and make proposals, with strong cross-department collaboration.
