As a Board member, you will bring strong governance and independent challenge to ensure growth is achieved safely, sustainably and in full compliance with regulatory expectations.The role of Independent Non-Executive Director offers the opportunity to contribute strategic thinking and insight, creativity and empathy to help the business balance commercial ambition with purpose, innovation and customer trust. You will influence the direction of a business with significant potential, helping to embed the culture, oversight and customer focus needed for long-term success.Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, you will oversee and support delivery of the business’s regulated activities (including credit & insurance broking), to ensure compliance, including Consumer Duty. In addition to monitoring and challenging risk management and controls, the role will also offer the opportunity to provide insight to a broad range of areas including customer acquisition and retention, marketing strategy, data and digital and technology platforms.RequirementsThe role would suit a senior executive leader with experience of operating at board-level within the consumer/retail sector:Likely to be operating in roles such as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Customer Officer or Chief Marketing Officer - offering creative thinking, a deep understanding of consumer behaviour coupled with commercial insight, strategy and expertise.Experience within a regulated consumer-facing business would be a distinct advantage, offering an understanding of regulatory obligations.Proven background in consumer and digital marketing, customer propositions, or commercial growth in a regulated environment.Experience within a subsidiary or group structure would be an advantage, in addition to experience of leading a scale up organisation.We require strong strategic and commercial acumen with a growth mindset.A deep understanding of customer behaviour, marketing trends, and the importance of delivering positive customer outcomes are essential, ideally in the retail financial sector.Sound risk and governance judgement, and familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g. SMCR, Fin Prom, Conduct and Consumer Duty).High levels of integrity, independence, and the ability to influence and engage constructively across executive and non-executive colleagues.This is an excellent opportunity for a serving executive to step into the world of non-executive leadership, gaining exposure and experience in a well established and major UK retail player. Equally, the role may also appeal to those who have already developed a portfolio career and may be interested to experience the Partnership model and ways of working.Key InformationLocation: Board & Committee meetings held in London.Time Commitment: Six sessions per year (five meetings & one board strategy day) plus associated prep time.Term: Three yearsClosing Date: 10th November 2025 (please note, we reserve the right to close this vacancy early in the event we receive a high volume of applications).
