Job Description SummaryWe are seeking a strategic and collaborative sourcing professional to lead the Facilities, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), and Utilities categories across Japan and the broader Asia region. This role will be shared with one or two other sourcing leaders and will be and individual contributor who will plays a key part in aligning regional sourcing strategies with global priorities, driving cost optimization, and ensuring supply continuity for critical services and equipment. You will be responsible for an estimated $40M USD in annual spend and may also have opportunities to support requests in these categories across other regions depending on priorities and volume of work and may have the opportunity to manage global projects as a developmental pathway for future growth in the company . You will drive strategy, negotiate contracts with suppliers to deliver the best overall value considering business needs (including but not limited to price, contractual conditions, quality, and service). The role involves performing market analysis, conducting supplier screening and identification, preparing and collaborating with cross-functional teams to conduct RFx processes, and performing analytics using various should-cost tools to facilitate supplier selection. The ideal candidate will stay informed of macroeconomic and industry trends related to materials and labor that will influence their strategy.You will work closely with local, regional and global stakeholders, leveraging your technical knowledge and business-level English skills to manage supplier relationships, negotiate complex contracts, and deliver long-term value.GE HealthCare is a leading global medical technology and digital solutions innovator. Take full ownership of assigned categories, continuously enhancing market knowledge and supplier insights Skillfully negotiate contracts, statements of work, payment terms, pricing, minimum order quantity (MOQ) and lead time reductions, as well as vendor-managed inventories when applicable.Interpret technical drawings and specifications for construction and custom manufacturing equipment to support informed sourcing decisions.Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities (MOQ), lead time reductions, and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) where applicable.Drive cost reduction and containment initiatives through process improvements, supplier consolidation, and strategic negotiationsMonitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing benchmarks to refine sourcing strategies and identify innovation opportunities.Build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering long-term partnerships.Lead the RFx process, analyze supplier quotes, and conduct detailed assessments of cost breakdowns, including price, quality, and delivery. Assist requestors in establishing RFQs and selecting suppliers to ensure standard terms are met or negotiated.Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and deliver measurable business impact.Assess and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, supplier performance, and contract compliance. Develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply for critical assigned services and goods.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least 3 years of experience in Indirect Sourcing or a related field).Strong spend analytics skills, ability to develop business cases, negotiation strategies, present to senior executives and influence change.Proven expertise in negotiation, with a strong track record of successfully negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes for the organization.Expertise in developing complex RFx’s and negotiating contracts and statement of works.Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.This role requires both a written and verbal fluency in both English and Japanese, as it involves regular communication with global teams, stakeholders and suppliers in region and other regions, reviewing technical specifications in English, and negotiating international contracts. Candidates should be comfortable working in a multicultural environment and leading sourcing strategies across both Japanese and global supplier bases. This includes the ability to:Comprehend and interpret technical drawings and specifications related to construction projects and custom manufacturing equipment to ensure the correct specifications, critical to quality, and acceptance criteria are included in the contractual documents.Engage in complex negotiations involving commercial, operational, and legal contract terms with both domestic and international stakeholders.Draft, review, and revise contractual documents in English with a high degree of accuracy and clarity.Communicate effectively across global teams, including presenting sourcing strategies, supplier performance updates, and risk mitigation plans.Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite.Ability to travel and communicate outside of typical work hours.Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity.Desired CharacteristicsAbility to collaborate and work well both individually and as a member of a cross functional team.Exhibits exceptional flexibility and adaptability, consistently demonstrating a proactive approach and a strong sense of urgency.
