As the Industry and Vocational Training Officer, you will provide a high level of leadership in managing the Western Cape College school-based apprenticeship and traineeship program.The ability to effectively engage with industry and business partners to maximise opportunities for secondary students is essential, as is the capability to establish and maintain highly effective business and industry networks.The ability to understand, apply, and interpret a broad range of vocational legislation and policies is also essential, as is the capability to determine appropriate ways to engage with stakeholders on challenging issues.About The Western Cape CollegeWestern Cape College is a unique state school with campuses in Mapoon (P-6) and Weipa (P-12), plus a secondary residential facility in Weipa. Learn more about the college here and explore Weipa here .About The RoleOur Weipa Secondary Campus is seeking a passionate Industry and Vocational Training Officer to join our secondary student services team.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild partnerships with industry and businesses to secure school-based apprenticeships, traineeships, and work experience opportunities.Promote vocational education pathways, including TAFE training, as career options for students.Manage the work experience placement program, ensuring compliance with departmental policies.Support the recruitment and enrolment of students into vocational pathways and work readiness programs.Coordinate events, develop promotional materials, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.This role offers a unique opportunity to support students in achieving their career goals while working in a vibrant and diverse community.Interested?
