The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and cataloging principles, combined with hands-on experience deploying and customizing Informatica IDMC components such as Data Catalog, Data Governance, Business Glossary, and Axon. This role bridges the gap between technology and governance, enabling consistent data definitions, quality, and discoverability across the enterprise. Integrate the catalog with enterprise data sources (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server, Oracle, SAP). Configure data discovery, lineage, and metadata harvesting processes. Establish business glossary, data domains, and governance workflows. Enable automated scanning and classification of datasets using Informatica’s built-in AI/ML features. Governance Enablement & Process Design: Partner with business and data owners to define data ownership, stewardship, and approval workflows. Develop and document data governance policies, standards, and processes. Support data quality rule creation, validation, and exception handling. Promote metadata-driven culture through workshops, demos, and user enablement sessions. Administration & Support: Administer user roles, permissions, and access controls within IDMC governance tools. Ensure platform stability, performance, and security compliance. Troubleshoot issues related to scanning, lineage, and metadata ingestion. Collaborate with Informatica Support for upgrades, patches, or enhancements. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with data architects, stewards, and data engineers to align governance processes with data platform architecture. Provide training and guidance for end users and governance stakeholders. Continuously assess opportunities to improve catalog coverage, metadata accuracy, and adoption metrics. Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or data cataloging roles. 2+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC) or related Informatica governance tools (Axon, EDC, IDQ). Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK, DCAM). Proven experience integrating catalogs with cloud and on-premises data sources. Good knowledge of data lineage concepts, metadata models, and data quality rules. Proficiency with SQL, REST APIs, and data modeling tools. Experience in user and role management, workflow configuration, and policy enforcement within IDMC. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Data Management. Informatica Certified Professional (CDGC / Axon / EDC) certification. Experience with Azure Purview, Collibra, or Alation (as complementary tools). Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake). Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and classification frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001). Experience with automation or API integration for metadata and governance processes. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate across business and technical teams. Analytical mindset with attention to detail and governance discipline. Ability to translate business needs into data governance requirements. Proactive, organized, and capable of leading workshops or stakeholder sessions. Passion for building a data-driven, well-governed organization.
