Information Security Officer (Individual Contributor)

Location: Remote (Poland-based), occasional travel to Łódź if requiredSalary: Up to €100,000About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Information Security Officer to manage and enhance the organization’s Information Security Management System (ISMS). This is a hands-on, individual contributor role - no team management or CISO responsibilities. You will directly coordinate with stakeholders, implement and maintain security processes, and ensure effective risk management across the business.This role offers flexibility, minimal micromanagement, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Manage and maintain the organization’s ISMS, consolidating and streamlining existing processes where necessary.Implement and execute ISMS processes and risk management activities directly—ownership of the work lies with you.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define objectives, identify risks, and develop appropriate security measures.Conduct audits, manage compliance activities, and report on security posture.Define and track KPIs for senior leadership reporting.Act as a subject matter expert for ISO 27001 standards, risk management, and GRC practices.Work independently while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with teams and stakeholders.Requirements:15+ years of experience in information security or related fields.Proven experience implementing and managing ISMS frameworks, preferably ISO 27001.Strong understanding of risk management, GRC, and audit management.Experience working with stakeholders to coordinate objectives and reporting.Background in technology-heavy companies preferred; fast-moving environments valued.Excellent communication and collaboration skills; team fit and adaptability are critical.Able to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.Remote-first role with occasional travel to Łódź if required.Nice-to-Have:Experience consolidating multiple ISMSs into a single framework.Prior experience reporting KPIs to senior leadership.Comfortable in flexible, non-micromanaged team environments.Note: This is not a CISO or leadership role. We are looking for someone who is technically strong, hands-on, and collaborative - not just a policy reviewer.
