1st Line IT Technician Location: Glasgow (Office-Based) Type: Full-TimeA growing telecoms and IT services provider is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic 1st Line IT Technician to join a dynamic Managed Service Provider (MSP) Service Desk team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about IT support and eager to develop within a technically diverse environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the first point of contact for IT support via phone and emailLog and manage support tickets using the helpdesk systemDiagnose and resolve issues involving hardware, software, networks, and user accountsProvide first-time fixes where possible and escalate complex cases when requiredConfigure and deploy new devices including PCs, laptops, and mobile devicesManage user accounts and permissions in Microsoft 365 and Active DirectoryDeliver remote and occasional on-site supportMaintain clear communication with clients and ensure timely updatesEssential Skills & ExperienceExperience in a 1st Line IT Support role (MSP background preferred)Excellent communication and customer service skillsStrong troubleshooting and multitasking abilitiesProficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Active DirectoryBasic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)Familiarity with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ZenDesk, ServiceNow)Desirable SkillsExperience working within MSP or ITIL frameworksUnderstanding of DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall configurationsExperience with virtual machines (VMWare)Cisco CCNA certifications (or working towards)What’s on OfferOpportunities for professional development and technical trainingSupportive, collaborative team cultureExposure to a wide range of technologies and industriesA chance to grow with a forward-thinking organisation during an exciting phase of expansionIf you’re interested and wish to know more please contact Jack at jharding@weareninetwenty.com
