If you’re passionate about using your skills to drive real impact and want to thrive in a collaborative, fully remote environment, Neon One is the place for you.The Instructional Designer position is responsible for helping users of Neon One’s SaaS products acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to successfully use our software.The Exciting Part:Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transferWork with subject matter experts to identify training needs of target audiences (clients and staff)State instructional end goals and create content that achieves themVisualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product, then work with instructional designers and educational technologists to bring your ideas to lifeConduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contextsApply tested instructional design theories, practice and methodsDesign exercises and activities that enhance the learning processCreate multimedia content (audio, video, simulations, role plays, gamification, etc.) for use in coursesDecide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments, including metrics and post-training surveysCreate and/or update knowledge base articles as neededAssist with reformatting and tagging of knowledge base articlesMaintain project documentation and course folderThe Expected PartWorks closely with our Support and Professional Services teams.Support the determination and prioritization of training materialsHelp to support the reduction of support tickets and support ticket processing timesHelp to improve client onboarding satisfactionOptimize learning resources for client successGreat to Haves:Working knowledge to Neon One products strongly preferredAt least five years of experience in instructional design and at least two years of experience in use of instructional technologyMaster’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or adult education strongly preferredExtensive knowledge of learning theories and instructional design modelsAt least five years of experience in lesson and curriculum planningAdvanced user of course development software (Articulate Storyline 360 preferred) and at least one learning management system; knowledge of Skilljar a plusVisual design skills and ability to storyboardBasic HTML and CSS programming knowledge a plusStrong writing skills, with the ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts, and knowledge base articlesBenefits and MoreOur people are at their best when they are happy, healthy, and have the resources and support they need.Unlimited paid time offComprehensive health plans (medical, dental, vision)401(k) with up to 3.5% company matchPaid parental leave after one yearCompany-paid life insurance and long-term disabilityPet insurance11 company holidaysPaid sick time and a monthly paid volunteer dayMedical and dependent care flexible spending accountsHow we HireWe use AI tools to support our recruitment process, including helping us organize applications and identify early matches based on role criteria.
