Bring your expertise and passion for innovation to help us safeguard and advance our cutting-edge products and technologies.As a member of the regional Asia Pacific IP-team, you will engage with colleagues across multiple countries and continents to develop and establish solutions that impact on a global scale.Join us and contribute to a future where creativity meets collaboration across the globe!Description of RoleProvide comprehensive intellectual property services to the Schaeffler Group to secure and safeguard our intellectual property rights, while ensuring compliance and diligence regarding the external intellectual property landscape.Your Key ResponsibilitiesGenerally responsible for day-to-day intellectual property mattersCounsel inventors, act as the contact person for all internal clients in IP mattersProsecuting patent applications before national and international patent offices, correspondence with local and foreign patent attorneysSearching relevant publications in specific technical fields or for products, and for specific intellectual property rights to assess company’s business activitiesBuild and shape business relevant patent portfolioProvide information to allow for target-oriented intellectual property filings and identification of intellectual property rights violationsResolve IP disputes with 3rd parties (incl. license negotiations, lawsuits, enforcement)Investigation of new developments in regard to collision with third party IPRPreparation and assessment of identified infringements from a technical and legal perspective, providing a respective recommendation for action (confidential, internal)Monitor IP activities of competitorsTrain engineers and staff on intellectual property matters and processes in SchaefflerActively participate in the Asia-Pacific intellectual property teamYour QualificationsMajor in electronics/electrical or mechatronics engineering, computer science, or related subject matterGood conversational and written English language skillsQualified patent agent or patent attorney with a license to act before the respective patent officeLegal knowledge is a plus, e.g., national civil and IP law, experience with foreign jurisdictions, US, DE, European, etc.3-5 years relevant working experience as in-house counsel (managing intellectual property in electronics, mechatronics, or software development)Manage and prioritize diverse work tasksAbility to work independently, whilst contributing effectively as a team memberGood communication skills and understanding of working in a global organization.As a global company with employees around the world, it is important to us that we treat each other with respect and value all ideas and perspectives.
