You will play a pivotal role in optimizing and evolving the Central Market System (CMS) — a cornerstone project for the energy market’s digital future. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency, reliability, and innovation of energy data exchange across Belgium.Why This Role MattersThe Belgian energy market is undergoing a major digital transformation. As a Business Analyst, you will help solve complex challenges in billing and settlement, ensuring seamless collaboration between market players. Your work will drive operational excellence, support market liberalization, and enable the next generation of energy solutions. The stakes are high: your insights and actions will shape the backbone of Belgium’s energy data infrastructure.What You’ll Be DoingAnalyze, monitor, and coordinate incidents, problems, and changes within the CMS platform, focusing on Bill and Settlement domains.Drive business process development and optimization (BPM) to enhance system performance and user experience.Engage in weekly consultations with key stakeholders (including technology partners and energy distributors) to discuss issues, propose solutions, and ensure alignment.Propose, document, and implement improvements and changes, ensuring functional, technical, and business requirements are met.Lead complex problem-solving initiatives, coordinating with market players to verify and validate solutions.Execute tests to confirm successful implementation of changes and maintain up-to-date documentation.Work autonomously within a self-managing team, proactively managing priorities and raising incidents as needed.Provide feedback on internal processes to remove obstacles and optimize team performance.What We’re Looking ForDemonstrable experience as a business analyst (minimum 3 years, intermediate level).Proven expertise in business process development and optimization (BPM).Hands-on experience with MIG6 Billing and MIG6 Settlement processes.Experience with Prepayment Platforms.Strong background in service management (ITIL incident, problem, and change management) with at least 3 years’ experience.Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across diverse teams.Experience with Topdesk is a plus.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.Ownership mindset: proactive, autonomous, and committed to driving impact.Positive attitude and a collaborative spirit, thriving in self-managing teams.Language ProficiencyFluency in Dutch or French at European CEFR level C1 is required.Fluent English is also required.Other RequirementsThis is a freelance position based in Brussels, with a 12-month initial contract and potential for extension.Full-time engagement (100% work regime).Project context: Digital transformation of the Belgian energy market, focusing on the Central Market System (CMS) for data exchange between suppliers, transmission, and distribution system operators.Assignment type: Time & Material.220 days per year expected commitment.Ready to build the future?
