Position OverviewWe are currently seeking an experienced Intermediate Civil CAD Designer to join our Kelowna office. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and drafting of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring work is accurate, efficient, and delivered on schedule. This role involves close collaboration with engineers and project managers to produce high- quality, detail-oriented design solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed civil design drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD Civil 3D for projects including subdivisions, municipal infrastructure, stormwater systems, roadways, and land development.Collaborate with engineers and project managers to prepare design concepts, calculations, and detailed plans.Coordinate with internal staff, clients, and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.Ensure all deliverables meet applicable municipal, provincial, and company standards.Apply knowledge of Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD), TAC geometric design guidelines and other BC design standards.Coordinate design work in accordance with local bylaws, subdivision servicing bylaws and the BC Building Code where applicable.Incorporate Stormwater Management Guidelines for BC and relevant environmental best management practices into design deliverables.Perform design checks and prepare drawings compliant with City of Kelowna and surrounding municipal standards.Assist in preparing cost estimates, tender documents, and construction specifications.Manage multiple tasks effectively, demonstrating strong time management and a commitment to meeting or exceeding deadlines.Provide mentorship and technical support to junior designers and technologists as required.QualificationsDiploma in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent credential.3–5 years of experience in civil design, ideally in land development or municipal engineering.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.Strong knowledge of applicable BC and municipal design standards (MMCD, TAC, BC Building Code, and local bylaws) an asset.Proficient organizational and time management skills with proven ability to meet strict project timelines.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Exhibit a keen eye for detail by thoroughly reviewing drawings, verifying design accuracy, and identifying potential conflicts or improvements before submission.Eligibility for certification with ASTTBC or a similar professional body is an asset.What We OfferCompensation: Competitive compensation and benefits package.Flexible Work Arrangements: Options for Hybrid or remote work, flexible hours to support work-life balance, and family friendly policies.Professional Development: Opportunities for professional growth and advancement, paid training.Performance Management and Recognition: Regular feedback, clear career pathways and employee recognition initiatives.Work Environment: A supportive, collaborative environment focused on technical excellence and client satisfaction.CompensationBase wage range: $25.00 to $36.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualificationsHow to ApplyApplicants are invited to submit a cover letter and resume by October 31, 2025, to:Human ResourcesAlpine Civil Engineering Consultants Ltd.Kelowna, BCEmail: info@alpineengineering.caWe appreciate the interest of all candidates; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Job Type: Full-timePay: $25.00-$36.00 per hourExpected hours: 35 per weekBenefits:Flexible scheduleWork from homeWork Location: Hybrid remote in Kelowna, BC V1Y 9L3
