Role At a GlanceThis position is ideal for individuals with foundational experience in architecture who are eager to further develop their skills in a professional setting and are pursuing licensure as a Registered Architect. The Intern Architect will perform tasks of limited scope and complexity, assisting senior architects and managing small-scale projects with guidance.We provide comprehensive support through the licensure process, including mentorship from experienced architects, and opportunities to gain practical experience on diverse projects. By investing in our intern architects, we aim to cultivate the next generation of licensed professionals who will lead and innovate in the field of architecture.You’ll Love This Role IfYou combine your creativity with practically minded solutions that will consider each specific need for design You are ambitious in your pursuit to be the best and bring energy to the design process You get the importance of paying attention to detail without losing sight of the big pictureWhat You Will Do Collaborate with Project Architect through the development of design concepts Prepare architectural presentation documents Research building science, sustainable design and design solutions related to project work Provide building code and zoning bylaw research and support Prepare contract documents in collaboration with the design studioWhat You Bring To The TableBachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program Registration with AAA, or other provincial governing body, or currently working towards qualifying for registrationSelf-motivated individual capable of assuming increasing responsibility for both current and future projects with an interest in growing with the firAbility to multi-task and coordinate efforts on multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated strong skills in creative design solutions, innovation, and researchKnowledge of the Alberta Building Codes, building systems and materialsStrong working knowledge of current versions of Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Max, Sketch-up, CorelDraw, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEnthusiastic team player who thrives in a collaborative environmentLife at WalterFedyAs a national, innovative, multi-discipline design and construction collective, our ambition goes beyond great design – we are here to enhance the world around us.
