As part of our Portfolio Management & M&A team, you will work at the intersection of strategy, investments, and operational performance. You’ll support the entire investment lifecycle – from origination and deal execution to value creation within our portfolio companies.Your TasksValue Creation & Portfolio SupportSupport Operating Partners and portfolio company teams on targeted value creation initiativesDevelop a deep understanding of company strategies, market dynamics, and competitive positioningAnalyze operating and financial performance across the portfolioBuild driver-based operating and valuation models (DCF, LBO, CCA/CTA) to assess impact on equity value and returnsPrepare high-quality analyses and materials for investment committees and senior leadershipM&A Origination & ExecutionContribute to pipeline development: build target lists, conduct market and competitor analyses, and develop investment thesesSupport M&A processes end-to-end (buy-side, sell-side, and bolt-ons) – from origination to closingPerform transaction-specific valuations and returns analysesCoordinate workstreams across internal teams, banks, consultants, and law firmsPrepare decision-grade presentations and materials for management and external stakeholdersYour ProfileBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field1–2 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking (M&A), Private Equity/Venture Capital, Strategy Consulting, or Transaction Services/Financial Due Diligence (strong internship track record also considered)Strong interest in business models, competitive dynamics, and market structuresExcellent analytical and financial modelling skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPointFamiliarity with data sources such as Capital IQ, FactSet, and broker researchStructured, hands-on approach and strong process discipline under time pressureConfident communicator with the ability to present clearly and concisely to senior stakeholdersFluent in English and GermanTeam player with good judgment, curiosity, and a self-starter mindset – respectful, pragmatic, and eager to learnOur OfferHybrid working setup at our Duisburg Campus (regional presence required; not suitable for full remote or long-distance commuting)Regular travel to portfolio companies and external advisorsCollaborative, performance-driven culture with flat hierarchies and a strong sense of purposeContactSounds interesting?
