Investment Analyst, Private Equity

About the RoleA regional Private Equity firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join their investments team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in evaluating investment opportunities, conducting market research, and supporting deal execution. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals and gain exposure to all aspects of the private equity investment process.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Modeling & AnalysisBuild and maintain detailed financial models, including leveraged buyout (LBO) models.Analyze financial statements and assess key performance indicators to evaluate investment viability.Conduct valuation analyses using various methodologies (DCF, precedent transactions, trading comparables).Market Research & MappingPerform comprehensive market mapping to identify industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential investment targets.Develop sector-specific insights to support investment theses.Investment Evaluation & ExecutionAssist in the preparation of investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.Support due diligence processes including commercial, financial, and operational assessments.Company Briefing & MonitoringPrepare company briefing notes summarizing key business metrics, strategic positioning, and investment rationale.Monitor portfolio company performance and provide analytical support for value creation initiatives.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CFA or MBA is a plus.2–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate finance.Strong proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.Excellent research and analytical skills with attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
