Investment Associate – European Mid-Market Fund Location | LondonHR1200A European private firm is seeking an Investment Associate to join its London team. The firm invests across listed and private small- to mid-cap businesses (£50m–£300m EV), combining elements of private equity, public-to-private, and activist investing.The strategy focuses on identifying undervalued and underperforming companies and driving transformation through strategic, operational, and governance change. This is an opportunity to work in a lean, entrepreneurial team where associates play a central role across the full investment cycle.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the origination, evaluation, and execution of new investment opportunities.Conduct financial modelling, valuation, and transaction analysis for both listed and private targets.Support due diligence and deal structuring, coordinating advisors and internal stakeholders.Contribute to investment papers and IC materials, including thesis development and risk assessment.Work with portfolio company management teams post-investment on value creation initiatives and M&A strategy.Ideal Profile3+ years’ experience in investment banking at a top-tier institution.Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills; confident handling complex data and building investment cases.A natural interest in value investing and public-to-private transactions.Commercially curious, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a flat, fast-moving environment.Excellent communicator and team player; proactive, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership early.Degree from a top university; additional European language skills are advantageous.Why this role?This is a rare opportunity to join a high-conviction, control-oriented investor with a differentiated approach to the European small- and mid-cap space.
