Investment Banking Analyst

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Analyst to join our growing team in The Netherlands. As part of an international bank with a strong European presence, you will support the execution of M&A transactions, capital markets mandates, and strategic advisory projects for corporate, financial sponsor, and institutional clients. This role offers significant deal exposure, responsibility from day one, and the opportunity to develop within a high-performing, international environment.Key ResponsibilitiesTransaction Execution & AnalysisSupport the execution of M&A and strategic advisory mandates across multiple sectors.Perform detailed company valuations using DCF, LBO, merger models, trading comparables, and transaction comparables.Conduct financial modelling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing.Assist in preparing investment materials including information memoranda, management presentations, pitch books, and board materials.Industry & Market ResearchPerform deep industry, market, and competitive analyses to support transaction ideas and client pitches.Track market activity, financial news, capital markets developments, and relevant regulatory updates.Client Support & Relationship ManagementSupport senior bankers in developing and maintaining client relationships.Prepare high-quality materials for client meetings (presentations, market updates, strategic reviews).Coordinate with internal stakeholders (legal, risk, compliance, sector teams) to facilitate seamless deal execution.Project ManagementHelp manage due diligence processes alongside clients and external advisors (legal, tax, consultants).Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and interdepartmental communication.Ensure accurate and timely internal reporting, documentation, and process control.Qualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field with strong academic results.Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and financial modelling skills.Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle multiple workstreams simultaneously.Strong communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly.Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and in a team.High degree of professionalism, integrity, and client focus.ExperiencePrevious internships in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, consulting, or related fields are highly valued.What We OfferExposure to high-profile, cross-border transactions.A collaborative and diverse international team.Structured training and ongoing professional development.Competitive compensation aligned with market standards.Career progression opportunities within a global banking platform.
