Job Description

Clearwater Partners is delighted to be working with a well regarded Investment Fund playing a crucial role in Australia's Energy transition to a more sustainable future. My client is seeking an Investment Manager and Investment Analyst to drive the Investment Strategy into new Technology, Innovation and strategic partnerships across all aspects of the transition including Renewables, Batteries, Transport and Commodities.The key accountabilities of the Investments Team include: Designing and implementing funding programs and initiativesSoliciting, appraising and providing feedback on funding proposals Coordinating external due diligencePreparation of funding approvalsNegotiation of funding agreements in collaboration with Portfolio Management As an Investment Manager or Investment Analyst your key role responsibilities include: Proactively engage with industry to identify potential funding opportunities aligned with the companies strategic priorities, and assist with preliminary business case development.Conduct and coordinate financial, technical, and commercial due diligence, working with internal teams and external advisors to assess risks, technology advancements, and commercialisation potentialStructure funding arrangements to meet the needs of both investor and applicants, interpreting financial models and developing new analysis toolsAdvise prospective recipients on how to develop high-quality applications, ensuring alignment with the companies requirements and maximising successDraft investment papers, presentations, Board briefings, synthesising complex information into clear recommendationsOversee concurrent funding projects across various renewable technologies, from early-stage engagement through to contract negotiation, milestone tracking, and implementation.Undertake market and industry research, portfolio analysis, and reporting to support investment decisions and monitor performanceContribute to a shared sense of purpose within the team, mentor junior staff, and support internal knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement initiativesDemonstrate a commitment to the companies purpose, working collaboratively to accelerate Australia’s transition to net zero. To be considered suitable for the position you will have: 5-8 years of relevant experience in a related industry (such as finance, energy, engineering or infrastructure)Demonstrated deal experience in structuring and project managing significant transactions, including due diligenceStrong financial modelling and quantitative analysis skills with experience building and reviewing models, sensitivity analysis and knowledge of good model design principlesExperience undertaking and coordinating due diligence across financial, technical, and operational areasExperience engaging directly with external stakeholders (e.g. applicants, advisors, technical experts) to resolve issues and progress opportunitiesStrong commercial acumen with ability to grasp complex situations quickly and negotiate positive outcomesAbility to mentor and guide junior staff, supporting skill development and quality deliveryExperienced in managing task timelines and coordinating multiple inputs.
