IP Configuration EngineerApplication Deadline: Oct. 31, 2025Location: Bucharest, WarsawI’m looking for a talented IP Configuration Engineer to join the world’s leading Tier-1 network provider. We operate AS1299 and, for over 30 years, have owned and continuously expanded our global fibre backbone—spanning Europe, North America, and Asia. We ensure secure, uninterrupted network connectivity across our more than 350 Points of Presence (PoPs).The IP Configuration Engineer’s main task will be to configure Arelion Sold Services with high quality and in a timely manner. You will use existing guidelines and standards, which are already in place, to support you during your day-to-day task, and furthermore, you will actively work with other units within the Service Delivery department, our customers, and sub-contractors alike when it comes to testing and bringing services into service. There is also a need to use internal support and inventory systems, which you need to keep up to date. You will also be involved when it comes to setting process and system improvements; and you will always be encouraged to make recommendations as you see fit.Day to Day tasksPrepare, create and verify all IP Router and Switch configurations as well as Layer 3 CPE and NID configurations according to preexisting configuration templates for Arelion services.Foresee custom solution needs on Arelion PE and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) for Arelion Enterprise Services.Perform service migrations, PE and CPE router and switch upgrades, and work alongside onsite technicians if required also outside normal working hours.Perform Ready for Service test (RFC2544 or Y.1564) and adequately analyze test results.Support customers and field engineers with patching and bring-into-service testing.Actively work in network wide and service level troubleshooting.Provide expert competence to customers and other internal parties as required.Strive to maintain best customer experience during the service delivery stage alongside the IP Configuration team members and other colleagues within the service delivery structure.Document and update all required support systems with high quality.Customer / internal meetings (physical, video or phone): be able to run a structured meeting and provide clear feedback.Actively involved in making process and system improvements; and make recommendationsSkills & RequirementsYou have previous experience working as an IP Network Engineer or relatedYou have passion to use your technical expertise to please customersYou are multitaskedYou can also work in an administrative and repetitive work environmentYou are a self-motivated person and good team playerYou have a problem-solving attitudeYou can work unsupervised (independently) and as a teamEXPERIENCEA minimum of three (3) years of experience as an IP Network Engineer.Essential to have very good understanding and practical experience in configuration and troubleshooting of the following technologies: IPv4 and IPv6 routing, BGP & MPLS, Carrier Ethernet 2.0, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN, VRRP.Very good working experience in either of the following operating systems: CISCO IOS, Juniper JUNOS, or Arista EOS.Good to have previous experience in Network automation, VoIP, 2G/3G/4G/5G Roaming, IP Sec, Optical Networking, Fiber, DWDM.Experience in Network inventory and workflow systems (SalesForce.com).CCNP/JNCIS/ DevNet is good to have but not essential.EDUCATIONPost-secondary education/university degree is good to have but not essentialMEF 2.0 Metro Ethernet Forum Certification would be advantageous but not essentialDon’t miss this opportunity.
