The L2 engineer will handle day-to-day network operations, assist with deployments and upgrades, and resolve escalated technical issues. The role requires experience with Cisco equipment, wireless networks, and basic Linux/Windows knowledge, with a strong focus on troubleshooting and maintaining optimal network performance.Key Responsibilities: Network Support & Maintenance: Support the configuration, management, and monitoring of Cisco networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls, to maintain a stable and efficient network environment. Wireless Network Support: Assist in the deployment and management of Wi-Fi networks, ensuring consistent connectivity and troubleshooting wireless issues as needed. Operational Monitoring: Monitor network systems for performance, reliability, and security, using appropriate tools to identify and address potential issues proactively. Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve network-related issues, escalating complex problems as needed and documenting solutions for future reference. Systems Support: Provide basic administration of Linux and Windows systems in relation to network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN), working closely with system administrators. Network Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and procedures to support operational continuity and compliance. Security Awareness: Assist with implementing and maintaining network security measures (ACLs, firewalls, VPNs), under the guidance of senior network engineers.Candidate Requirements: Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or IT support roles, working with Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) and wireless networks. Technical Skills: Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switches and routers. Basic understanding of firewall configurations and Wi-Fi network management. Operating Systems: Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, particularly in configuring and troubleshooting network services. Network Protocols: Familiarity with core network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and basic knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP). Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve common network issues, with experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, PRTG, Zabbix). Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and other IT teams.Nice to have: Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
