Please visit https://flareevents.ca/ to learn more.Position Summary:We are seeking a short-term IT Systems Consultant to review and optimize our existing email and network configuration as part of regular systems maintenance. The goal is to ensure our communication infrastructure continues to operate efficiently, with consistent delivery and reliable filtering across all internal and external channels.This is a hands-on, short-term contract suited to someone with experience in email administration, authentication frameworks, and system configuration. You’ll collaborate with our internal team to fine-tune existing settings and confirm alignment with best practices in preparation for upcoming platform integrations and marketing initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Audit current email and firewall security configurations.Identify vulnerabilities such as spam, spoofing, and phishing infiltration, and strengthen protection measures.Implement updates to authentication, filtering, and access controls.Develop clear rules and protocols to maintain secure and uninterrupted communication with partners, customers, and integrated systems.Provide a summary of findings, improvements, and recommendations for future maintenance.Advise on best practices for integrating marketing and automation tools securely.Qualifications:Proven experience in email and network security configuration and management.Strong understanding of SPF/DKIM/DMARC protocols and email authentication standards.Experience configuring security enhancements for small or mid-sized organizations.Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM/email marketing systems.Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a non-technical team.Knowledge of broader network and firewall security best practices.DeliverablesAudit summary of existing systems and configurations.Implemented improvements to email filtering, authentication settings, and network security.Documentation of all changes and recommendations for future maintenance.Contract DetailsCompensation: $1000-$1200 for the project, based on experience.Work Environment: Remote, flexible hours.As an equal opportunity employer, Flare is committed to providing all employees with a safe working environment free of discrimination and harassment.
